Thanks to all of the shoppers and vendors who helped make our 2nd annual Organic Market such a success! We estimate over 2000 people visited the market to take home some of the great offerings from our local farmers. We have received many followup requests for contact information on our great vendors, so we added a link below with our complete vendor listing. We look forward to seeing everyone next year. |

Last years Bazaar: |

Seventh Avenue Arts and Crafts Bazaar, Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PMThe annual Seventh Avenue Arts and Crafts Bazaar was held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Maple Street in front of the train depot in the Historic Seventh Avenue District. This fourth year of the district’s great arts and crafts street fair, formerly named the Bizarre Bazaar, promised to exceed all previous years with over 60 high level crafters and arts vendors featuring artistic creations, unique crafts, and even some antiques. Many exhibitors returned from previous years and were joined by a wide variety of new professional vendors, from the funky to the well established. The Bazaar’s artisans included potters featuring functional designs, amazingly talented jewelry makers, and many of the other vendor booths featured whimsical products produced by local craftsmen and women. People were amazed at the variety of talented artists and crafts people that were part of the previous year’s arts and crafts bazaar at Seventh Avenue. Their offerings covered the entire gamut of creative hand-produced products. An exciting variety of live entertainment began on the depot plaza at 10:00 am and continued throughout the day adding to the delight of last year’s arts and crafts bazaar. People were serenaded as they meandered along the street peering into the vendor booths. Food vendors were on site to fill those empty tummies that are always part of a street festival. If people prefered to sit and enjoy a more relaxed eating experience, local restaurants- Daddy D Suber’s and the Depot Diner operated on a regular schedule from 10:00 AM to closing. The Underground Bakery was open and offered their usual great selection of delicious artisan breads and yummy sweet delicacies that waited for them to take home to enjoy later. During the morning, attendees were able to catch sight of the Norfolk southern train engine as it glided along the tracks on its way to Hendersonville’s Seventh Avenue Depot. People followed it to its one-day resting place on the track at the historic depot at Seventh and Maple Avenues. The Apple Valley Railroad club members were on hand near the engine to help folks climb aboard where the engineer was sitting in the cab. He was happy to answer all of their questions. And, those boys and girls who were especially good were lucky enough to toot the train’s whistle. People who went inside the depot where the Apple Valley Model RR Club was open the entire day and invited folks to tour their facilities to marvel at the many intricate train displays. Visitors were invited to take that great opportunity to stroll along the Avenue and Locust Street to become acquainted with all the exciting new businesses that had opened in this revitalized historic district of Hendersonville. They found that there were many shops and restaurants to serve their needs. |
